Best Memory Foam Mattress for All Bed Sizes
Best Memory Foam Mattress for All Bed Sizes
Everyone has different preferences when it comes to the bed they sleep on. Some people prefer a soft bed that they can melt into. Other people prefer a firmer, springier bed that has some give to it. When memory foam came into existence, it took the furnishing world by storm and has carved itself a nice little niche.
If you are looking to try out a memory foam mattress for the first time – or perhaps you are looking to replace your old mattress that has seen a lot of use – then you have come to the right place.
Memory Foam Mattress Reviews
Novilla Gel Memory Foam Mattress
The first mattress we’ll take a look at is a gel memory foam mattress made by Novilla. It makes for an excellent starting point and will give us a good indication of what to look for in a well-made mattress.
Review
With four layers that are entirely made of foam, this mattress focuses on delivering the best comfort possible using a combination of techniques. The top layer is the gel-infused memory foam layer, which rests upon three more layers of memory foam for added support that minimizes aches and pains.
The gel infusion and egg crate design make for a comfortably cool bed with increased airflow throughout the entire design. The mattress comes in four sizes and two styles: the 10-inch style and the 12-inch style.
For the 10-inch thick mattresses, you can enjoy Queen, King, Full, and Twin-size beds. The 12-inch thick mattresses can be found in the same sizes, except for Twin-sized options. This mattress is soft, odorless, and uses a bamboo fabric to ensure breathability.
There isn’t much in the way of undesirable features other than a few nitpicky things. For example, it comes in a single color (grey), and it is quite a bit firmer than you might expect since it is advertised as having medium firmness.
Pros
- Stays cool
- Options for sizes and styles
- Soft but firm enough to hold shape
- Very breathable
Cons
- One color option
- Firmer than advertised
Classic Brands CoolGel Mattress
The next option is from Classic Brands and uses their original CoolGel memory foam product.
Review
The Classic Brands mattress is an improvement upon the Novilla in almost every way. Using a gel memory foam of their own design, this mattress comes in far more varieties, with a size option for both Twin and Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King. They also give you the option to get a bed platform for all but the Queen-sized options.
Two styles exist and vary based on the pattern on the mattress. The mattress uses a combination of ventilated gel memory foam and a four-way stretch knit cover to allow the memory foam to conform to your shape for excellent comfort. It’s medium-firm and provides excellent support for your back and neck.
The only issue some might have with this mattress is that it isn’t the most breathable of designs, so it’s very easy to get hot at night. The conforming properties may also be a bother for some, as they might find it difficult to move around in bed.
Pros
- Soft and conforming
- Firm enough to provide spine and neck support
- Large variety of size categories
- Option for a bed platform with mattress
Cons
- Not very breathable – can get hot
- Can be difficult to move around in
Sleep Innovations Marley Memory Foam Mattress
Third on the list is a mattress from Sleep Innovations. This mattress is made to appeal to as many folks as possible.
Review
This line of gel memory foam mattresses comes in three different styles based on their thickness, whether 8, 10, or 12 inches thick. Across all these thickness options, you have access to Twin, Full, Queen, King, and California King sized beds, without any restrictions, which is quite a substantial number of options.
The design in question uses a gel memory foam top that is layered on a firmer, more supportive center layer. This makes it great for alleviating aches and keeping you cool while you sleep. It comes in medium to medium-firm options to match any sleeper’s preferences. Additionally, the entire product is made with hypoallergenic materials.
With the gel-infused layer as the only heat combatant, this mattress can be a bit on the warmer side. Additionally, many have found that the mattress begins to lose some of its supportive qualities after years of use.
Pros
- Many options to choose from
- Uses hypoallergenic materials
- Medium to medium-firm firmness
- Cool gel layer over a supportive firm layer
Cons
- Loses firmness and structure over years of use
- Not very breathable – warmer than other mattresses
ViscoSoft Memory Foam Mattress
This pull-on mattress is an alternative to a full-sized mattress, making it a unique budget option.
Review
This considerably thinner mattress – at only 3 inches thick – is designed to be pulled over whatever mattress you already have. It is meant to reinforce your bed with additional support. The memory foam topper slips on and straps down to provide all the benefits of a memory foam mattress at a cheaper price.
The ventilated design spreads out body heat more efficiently, while the gel-infused, high-density memory foam is designed to sink in at key points to allow perfect alignment and prevent any kind of body aches. It comes with a removable cover that is machine washable for added convenience.
It is perfect for anyone looking for a budget-friendly option that will give you the same memory foam experience. This topper comes in a variety of sizes, including Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, Queen Short, King, and California King.
There isn’t much to criticize with this mattress topper. It pulls off the job of a memory foam mattress without being the real deal. However, that in itself can be a negative, because if you don’t have a great quality mattress underneath, it can reflect in the topper.
Pros
- Budget-friendly topper
- Ventilated design
- Removable, washable cover
- Aligns with the body
Cons
- Can take on the worn shape of the mattress below
Olee Sleep Aquarius Memory Foam Mattress
Our final mattress comes from the Olee Sleep Store and is a relatively basic design that rounds out these mattresses nicely.
Review
Our first mattress to have a plush firmness, this 10-inch thick option comes in the standard sizes of Twin, Full, Queen, King, and California King. Made with a combination of polyester and spandex, this mattress is able to hold up for quite some time.
Its gel-infused memory foam helps in that regard, as well as helping you stay cool at night. A high-density base keeps you aligned and comfortable, eliminating any chance of aches and pains in the morning, despite it being quite soft and plush on the top layer.
There are a few features that do unfortunately hold it back. The interior consists of many fine shards of fiberglass, which can be very annoying and irritating to get rid of if you don’t take care when removing the outer layer. Additionally, out of all the mattresses reviewed, this one takes the longest to decompress, roughly two to three days.
Pros
- Softest of the mattresses, yet still firm for alignment
- Durable and long-lasting
- Gel-infusion to keep you cool at night
- Comes in all common sizes
Cons
- Fine fiberglass interior can become messy and irritating to the skin
- Takes a long time to decompress fully
Conclusion
Memory foam mattresses are great for those looking for a firm yet comfortable option that will remove body aches by the morning. Out of these options, we would recommend the ViscoSoft topper as an all-around best option. If you want a full-size mattress, the Novilla option is another great choice.
